About me
I'm Mark. I've been building websites and web applications for over 25 years.
For most of that time, a good custom website took weeks of work and cost thousands of dollars. That was the job, and I loved it.
The job has changed completely. The tools I use now let me do in a day what used to take a month. I could be bitter about that. Instead, I started Website Smarty to put it to work for the farms, cafés, contractors, bands, clubs and side hustles that never had the budget for a real website. Now they don't need one.
The sites are hosted on servers I run myself. When you call, you get me.

What does the $25 get me?
A complete, custom first version of your website, built from what you tell me, plus unlimited revisions until you love it. The $25 is the only thing you pay before your site is live.
What if I don't like the first version?
Tell me what to change and I'll change it. Revisions are unlimited, so we keep going until it's right. If you decide not to go live, you don't owe anything more.
When does the $50 start?
Only when your site goes live on your domain. From then it's $50 every 30 days, charged automatically to the card you choose.
Is there a contract?
No. No contract and no minimum term. Cancel any time and you won't be charged again. Stay because the site is worth $50 a month, not because a contract says so.
Who owns my domain?
You do, always. If you already have one, we point it at the new site. If you don't, I'll register one in your name, and it's included in your plan.
What if I want to leave later?
Cancel any time, no questions asked, from your receipt email or by texting me.
What counts as a content update?
Changing text or images on a few pages: a new menu, holiday hours, fresh photos, a price change, a new team member. Rebuilding the header, footer and overall look of the site is a redesign, and we'd talk about that separately.
How fast are updates?
Usually within minutes of your email. If you send a big batch, by the next day.
What do you need from me?
A few sentences about what you do, and anything you already have: photos, a logo, a menu, your hours. Don't have any of that? Start anyway. I'll work with what's there.
I'm not technical. Is that a problem?
That's the point. You never have to touch the site. Email or text me what you want changed and I do it.
What about bigger things, like online ordering or a booking system?
